Lytham St. Anne's

Had a beautiful English breakfast and then walked around the village. I am still cold. We went for lunch at friends of Carol and Ian and spent hours sitting in a glass conservatory in their beautiful English garden. It is still a little cold but supposed to warm up tomorrow. We spent the afternoon walking in the village and by the sea. The whole area is getting ready for some big festival this week. Everyone is running around town all excited. In the meantime I am turning a very proper English rose. No cursing since I arrived. Stilton cheese and scones. Talking to people in the streets. Tiffin and high tea, except coffee instead. Everything is done on a smaller scale here. Everyone walks. No chubby people. Everyone is very polite and kind.

We went to the One Pound store...yes it is the Dollar store except it costs more...one pound. Everything is very expensive. Everyone is complaining about how all the illegal immigrants are coming and getting everything they ask for. It is quite bad. Maybe another revolution. They have a really bad problem here in the big cities. Sound familiar? Anyway, we broke the cash register in the store and the line was a mile long. These stupid credit cards are all screwed up with their dumb chips. We also walked out the wrong door at the airport yesterday and set off a big alarm. They were nice about it. Dumb Americans. And we could read the signs because they were in English!

Did I mention that we are sleeping in bunk beds? Guess I better get some rest now. Going to Blackpool tomorrow.
