Home Sweet Home

We have finally completed our South America to Alaska to Canada oddesy and I have to say that it's good to be home. Of course, I landed at the doctor's office after landing at the airport. It seems I have bronchitis, an ear infection and sinus issues. We put away everything and did the laundry in record time so we can now begin the task of planning the next trip. I guess our travel bugs are still an issue.

Some final thoughts on this last trip.

South America

Everyone in South America carries their children. They all have strollers but they still carry their kids.

South American major cities are very cosmopolitan and modern-thinking.

There is a definite divide between the haves and the have-nots.

People are very kind and love to interact with you, especially if you make an attempt to speak their language.

South America gets better and better everytime we visit.

The tango is a sexy, delicious dance which is an artform in itself. Jerry will perfect his tango skills or be waterboarded.

Alaska

Alaska is devastatingly beautiful.

We didn't see much wildlife other that the folks hanging around the local pubs.

Alaskans are an independent, self-sufficient bunch with their own unusual way of thinking.

The native Alaskan population hates Sarah Palin.

Vancouver

The city is beautiful. There are too many beggars. Everyone asks you for money.

The city outline reminds me of Hong Kong.

The Chinatown is filled with homeless people.

Seattle

Weird, weird, weird. This is the Emerald City of the Wizard of Oz.

Finally, my bed feels great.
