RHODES, GREECE
RHODES WAS JUST A PERFECT DAYWE SPENT THR REST OF THE TIME WANDERING AROUND THE OLD MEDIEVAL CITY, INTO IT’S BACK ALLEYS AND NOOKS AND CRANNIES. WE HAD NO IDEA WHERE WE WERE AND DIDN’T CARE. EVENTUALLY WE FOUND OUR WAY OUT INTO THE HORDES OF TOURISTS AND SINCE THERE WERE FIVE SHIPS HERE IT WAS QUITE CROWDED. WE HAD A NICE SWIM AND RELAXED. THIS INTENSIVE TOURING IS EXHAUSTING BUT I WOULDN’T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING. WE HAD NICE DINNER COMPANIONS THIS EVENING, ESPECIALLY THIS JOLLY COUPLE FROM NEW ZEALAND. IT WAS THE SECOND TIME WE SAT WITH THEM SO WE PICKED UP THE CONVERSATION FROM LAST EVENING. JERRY IS NOW IN THE CASINO HOPEFULLY NOT LOSING MONEY AND I AM THINKING ABOUT HOW TO GET HIM INTO SOME STORES TOMORROW IN KUSADASI, TURKEY. THE TOWN IS A GIANT SHOPPERS PARADISE. I ALSO WANT TO GO TO EPHESUS. WE WERE HERE TEN YEARS AGO AND I DON’T THINK MUCH HAS CHANGED BUT I WANT TO SEE IT ANYWAY. HARD TO BELIEVE BUT THE CRUISE IS NEARING IT’S END AND THE THOUGHT OF THAT LONG PLANE RIDE IS MAKING ME NAUSEOUS. FLYING IS NO FUN ANYMORE. WE ARE BUYING ANOTHER SUITCASE FOR THE DIRTY LAUNDRY SINCE OUR CLOTHING HAS EXPANDED ALONG WITH OUR WAISTLINES AND WE CAN’T FIT IT INTO THE SUITCASES WE CAME WITH. I TOOK WAY TOO MANY CLOTHES AND SWEAR NOT TO DO IT AGAIN. MY QUEEN OF THE NILE DAYS ARE COMING TO AN END. NOW I THINK I WILL CHANGE MY NAME TO BABE OF THE BOSPHOROUS.
