Barcelona

After an hour delay in Ft. Lauderdale and a three hour delay in JFK we finally made it to Barcelona at 10 this morning local time. Just a funny aside...we were on the shuttle bus between terminals at JFK and there were two women who just got off the farm. One said to the other "look, it's a two floor plane." She never saw one before and wanted to know what country it was from! It was just an old 747. I actually slept after taking one Advil PM and they had to wake me for the awful breakfast mc muffin and banana.

We schlepped our luggage between terminals and got on the Metro then walked about seven blocks to our hotel. The hotel is nice and located in a very good area. The air conditioning is the European almost non-existent kind. We are out of the room all the time anyway. Today we walked La Rambla up and down the entire length twice, had an outdoor lunch, went to the central market and took a boat tour of the harbor. The Ramblas is an outdoor insane asylum, but that is part of it's charm. Have to rest now so we can go out to dinner at 10 PM. Restaurants don't open for dinner before that!

More to come.

Trip to Spain and Cruise

It is arranged. We are going back to Spain, but this time it is northeastern Spain and the Pyrenees Mountain area, Catalonia, Andorra and then down to Barcelona to pick up a 12-night cruise through the eastern Med. Right now I am trying to make reservations at a 15th century castle for lodging. I hope it is available.
